  • Coast builders bring home awards

    ARTICLE TEXT: Hokitika and Greymouth builders have taken out awards in the Registered Master Builders House of the Year for Marlborough, Nelson and the West Coast.
    The winners were announced at a gala dinner in Nelson on Saturday night.

    Greymouth company Robert Caldana Builder Ltd won the gold award and category award for the Builder’s Own Home section and added the Outdoor Living Award and the Plumbing World Bathroom Excellence Award.

    The other Coast builders to be recognised were Stonewood Homes West Coast Ltd, Hokitika, who won a silver award in the James Hardie New Homes $450,000-$600,00 category and followed that up with a bronze in the Placemakers New Homes $250,000-$350,000 category.

    Gold, silver and bronze award winners are determined using a points system and the local gold award winners become gold reserve national finalists, announced in early September.  They are then re-judged by a panel of judges who determine the overall national winners. …
